You don’t want the half-interested people to force you out of your home for a tour, simply because they want to see what the home looks like. According to a recent study by Redfin, homes that are listed on Wednesday end up selling for $2,023 higher and they have a shorter duration on the market. This study was conducted with 100,000 homes that were recently sold and surprisingly Wednesday was overwhelmingly the winner.
So why is this the case? Most people work on weekdays so they use the weekends as their time to visit houses. I find that most serious buyers usually plan out their “open house map” so if you list the house on Friday, they will have already planned their route. By listing it on Wednesday, you are giving them plenty of time to schedule their open house tours.
